Living the Dream
We've been big fans of artist Kara Thurmond since... well, since we were roommates after college.
Back then, Kara saved the day when the computer crashed, spiked our morning coffee with cookies-&- cream liqueur and concocted a highly potent love potion for our memorable Valentine's Day bash.
Nowadays, she's a working artist in Brooklyn, and she brings the same flair that made her a great roomie to her excellent collection of paintings, prints and mixed media work.
Her newest work includes Bike Ride, one of a lovely collection of paintings
and photo etchings made from Super 8 Film, as well as Rat Traps, a vibrant series of silkscreened images.
We also really love Run, Lisa -- and not just because we suspect that it's created from a photo of one of our favorite former partners-in-crime.....

I have been a fan of Kara's since she allowed me to jump out her dormroom window when the hall monitor was on my tail. She's definitely the most artistically-skilled Philosophy major I know. Several of her original works are hanging in my home, with hopefully more to come.
BTW, I think it's "liquer".
