Our close friend, the Gothamizer, just directed us to the Four Word Film Review, because he knows we like movie reviews and have the attention span of a gnat.
We loved the concept. It gave us an idea.
Hence, Scribblista today officially launches Haiku Reviews® and we invite readers to contribute your own Haiku Review whenever the mood strikes.
For instance, here's one for Capote:
Cornfields once so calm
Shattered by a senseless crime
Truman is complex
And now you see why I am a blogger and not a famous and respected poet.
Below, the details on contributing your own Haiku Review:
Here's how to play:
- Make up a haiku on a new or well-known movie
- Use your real name or an alias, as you wish (but don't use a real email on this system, because I hear Typepad is infested with spam crawlers)
- Post your review in any Comment field, even if it's unrelated to the topic.
- Or send me an email. If you have my direct email use that. If not, send to: scribblista(at sign)mac.com. I'll also post this address in my neglected About Page.
- I'll collect them, and post as written in a regular Haiku Review round-up
Disclaimer: Good haikus may result in a lucrative book deal and/or career change. We cannot assume responsibility if this happens. We would, however, like it if you bought us a cocktail to celebrate.
