Paper Tigers & Such

A few years ago, our interns introduced us to the mysterious art of orgami.
We never progressed beyond a simple crane (which we've sadly forgotten how to construct). Our interns, however, managed to assemble some extremely complicated cubes.

And, as you can see below, the winnners of this MIT orgami competition are clearly not afraid of paper cuts either. More details here.

We Like It When You Like Us

We woke up this morning to find that traffic on our site had doubled (We're up to nearly six hits now! Yes, we kid... but, sadly, only a little.)

Anyway, we quickly dispatched our interns to scour the Internet and determine the source of our sudden popularity. Turns out we owe our soaring numbers to the fantastic Scaramouche who does the Fandango over at the excellent pop culture site, YesButNoButYes. Considering our numbers spike, they clearly have a devoted following and we thank them sincerely for the kind words.

Killer Pumpkins

There's a collection of sick & twisted pumpkins on display at Extreme Pumpkins. They've been tortured in a bunch of ways: suffocation, fire, staples, you name it.
But none of these are as scary as the real Halloween frightfest: Bush just nominated the ultraconservative Scalito Alito to replace Harriet Miers.

Halloweenishness

iTrick-or-treaters will find plenty of sites to serve up some Halloween devilishness. You just have to ring the bell... if you dare:

We always suspected the Bush & Co. had struck a deal with the devil, which may explain why the White House website features such an extensive array of ghost stories about White House hauntings and interactive Halloween games. Visit at your own risk. We're fairly sure that they've embedded Satanic messages throughout to lure upstanding citizens to the dark side.

Hangman Halloween makes for a quick bit of trickery, especially the skeleton that gleefully taunts players.

Finally, our friend Tangerine sent us this interactive Halloween pumpkin carving site to learn to carve like a pro. Our advice: Proceed gently and use a delicate touch.
